If it ain't broke

Last week I ripped on PR link building agencies for being too expensive & ineffective.

I just think if you’re going to spend $5k, you should spend it on something that’s going to make you an additional $10k, $20k, $30k, and even $50k.

And if you don’t have $5k to invest, then don’t even sweat it!

Most backlinks are $100-$500 each, and building even just 4-5 of these each month will put you in the top 3 spots of Google, just like those agencies claim their links will do, but for a much lower price point.

If you don’t have a few hundred dollars to invest in backlinks, also fine! There are several free ways to build backlinks, some better than others.

There are two that work when done effectively — link exchanges and broken link building.

There are plenty more that don’t work — like building infographics and writing content in the hopes that it naturally attracts backlinks.

That last one is straight up a myth — your content will not rank without links.

As for the ones that do work, my latest video breaks down how broken link building works and how to get the most out of these campaigns.

Catch you on Wednesday.
