The loudest ones are always the dumbest

“The loudest ones are always the dumbest.”

I’ve been in the SEO world for close to 4 years now…

And I’ve never seen a phrase ring more true in any industry besides SEO — maybe politics…

Often on LinkedIn I get a lot of messages and connection requests from so-called “SEO Experts”.

These dumb people are incredibly easy to spot. They say things like:

You can’t buy backlinks (braindead take).

I mean, if you’ve been on this list for a while, then you already know that you need to spend money on links if you want to make money on Google.

We’ve never had any of our sites penalized – we have an entire system in place to prevent this very thing from happening.

Yes, it is safe to buy links—as long as you’re 1) not buying them from Fiverr and 2) making them look natural.

Google hates AI content (they literally don’t care).

Google only wants to rank valuable content, and in some niches, you can rank AI content with relative ease. But your reward will be short lived, the best content will inevitably climb to the top.

Sure, AI can produce 100+ blogs in a matter of minutes, but if you post that content without any edits, then that content isn’t going to rank.

Or worst-case scenario, you’ll probably get slapped with a manual Google penalty for bragging about your AI run on Twitter/X.

“You need make these 27 technical changes to rank #1” (there’s never been a situation when this has been true)

Technical SEO is (and will always be) the least important bucket of eCommerce SEO, unless you’re the proud owner of a store with 1,000+ products or have major UX issues.

And my favorite one of all…”I’m an SEO expert.”

Here’s a screenshot of my most recent LinkedIn connection requests. Do you think any of these people are actually experts

I would bet all the money that I own that they are not

You might think I’m being harsh – fine.

But would you hire any of these people?

I sure hope not.

That is all for today.

Until next time,

Kai Cromwell.
