Rage is the best fuel

This advice is tried and true

“You sound pretty desperate.”

93 days ago, an agency owner said these exact words to me.

I laughed out loud.

I booked a discovery call with his B2B growth agency.

From everything I’d heard, he was the best in the business.

But he was young and arrogant.

Young, I don’t mind. Arrogant, I can’t stand.

We went through discovery and I informed him that I’d gone through a rough few weeks of business.

Had some issues with cashflow and a few other things, though I still had enough cash to sign with this guy had I wanted to.

And he summed everything up with “You sound pretty desperate. You must need my help.”

I didn’t hear anything he said after that.

I didn’t care how good he was — he wasn’t a personality fit for me.

He didn’t pass the “dickhead test.”

That’s exactly what it sounds like.

He was a dickhead.

For the last 93 days, those words have been ringing in my ears.

Head down, laser focused.

More content.

Smoother operations.

Better communications.

Stronger results.

It paid off.

From days 0-30, I doubled down on YouTube content.

I signed a client from Twitter.

From days 31-60, I recorded a ton of YouTube content.

I signed 2 clients.

In the last 33 days, I’ve signed 5 clients.

June will be my first $50,000 month as an agency.

1 year ago, my fragile ego would’ve let that guys’ comments break me.

Instead, I turned it into fuel.

Next time you’re mad about something, funnel it into your business.

93 days down the road, you’ll thank yourself.

Peace.
