Seriously, another confession?
This is the last time, I swear.
I’m finally done procrastinating and lying to you (and myself). I’m starting my niche site.
I started to build it in September and wanted to launch by end of October.
5/100 articles written for my niche site
Goal is to launch by end of October

lol
There’s currently 13 articles on the site. And while that may seem like a “launch,” I haven’t even finished a single cluster.
So it’s not a real website yet.
But as of today, I’ve got some real skin in the game.
I freed up about 10 hours each week for one of my VAs, so now they’re going to help me build it out.
A little background… The site is in the electronic dance music (EDM) space and the North Star goal is to grow it into an event curation company.
Read between the lines: I want to throw concerts & festivals.
I fell in love with dance music in 2016 and never looked back. I’ve seen 200+ live sets in every genre imaginable: house, bass, techno, trap, trance, dubstep, and DnB.
I love it all.
The idea for the site came to me when I realized that I could fund my addiction with SEO. File for an LLC, write off every concert/festival ticket as a business expense, and slowly monetize the site with display ads and affiliate deals.
That was the initial idea. I have a lot of ideas that I don’t act on.
But now I’ve got some skin in the game — I’m committing $400/month to this project, which I’ll use to pay my VA & buy backlinks.
Yes, buy backlinks.
Anyways, I’m going to update you 1-2x per month on the site’s progress, what we’ve done, and most importantly, what I’ve learned.
And to keep me accountable.
I know this has absolutely nothing to do with eCommerce, but I’ve been thinking a ton about the different types of SEO since that email I sent last week, and I want to expand my knowledge.
Oh yeah, and it’s my newsletter so I can write about whatever the hell I want.
This could turn into the next Insomniac (the current monopoly in EDM events), or it could crash & burn.
Either way, there’s plenty to learn for you & I.
Let’s get it.
Catch you on Friday.
Kai
