“SEO takes time.”
Fuck, I feel like I’ve said those words a thousand times.
I’ve combatted that weak argument the same number of times when a bad SEO defends their lack of results.
It doesn’t take long if you do the right things for enough time.
If you’ve been following me for awhile, you know that I’ve been posting videos on YouTube for over a year now.
I’ve posted 38 videos in total over the last 13 months.
My first ever video was terrible.
It’s just a Google Doc + Loom video of one of my very first case studies ever.
It got 173 views in the first 30 days of being published.
173 — That’s not a lot of views.
But funny enough, 2 prospects that I’d recently spoken to (around the time I recorded it) had watched it.
They both said that it was the reason that they booked the call with me in the first place.
So while 173 views isn’t a lot, I signed both of those brands to multi-thousand dollar retainers.
I also still work with both of those brands. Those 2 views ended up converting into over $60k in revenue in the last 12 months for my agency.
That case study took me 2 hours to write, 30 minutes to film, and 30 minutes to edit/post.
3 hours of my time turned into $60k+ in revenue.
Pretty insane.
Since then, that video has only climbed to 1000 views.
Still quite a small video in terms of YouTube.
But two weeks ago, I posted my 38th video.
And that thing absolutely ripped.
It’s done 10,000 views in the first 14 days.

I have to be honest with you, it felt really good to get my 1000th subscriber and crack 10k visits on a single video.
But this isn’t meant to be a brag.
It’s a lesson in SEO.
When I hit publish on that first video, YouTube had zero idea who I was.
But since then, I’ve continued to publish videos every 10-15 days.
And the results have started to compound.
Since that 10k video popped off, all of my other videos have picked up 50+ views each too.
Every single one!
The top video was so good that YouTube is now rewarding the other 37 videos.
There’s very little chance that my most recent video would’ve broken 10k visits if I never posted the 1st video.
Or the 2nd.
Or the 3rd.
Or the 36th one.
YouTube is a search engine, just like Google.
The more quality content that you publish over an extended period of time, the more a search engine will trust you.
It may take time.
Your first blog post or backlink might suck.
My first video sucked — I didn’t care.
I just knew I needed to start.
And here we are now.
Imagine where you could be.
Btw, here’s my first ever video and the 10k visits video if you want to give them a watch.
Catch you on Friday.
Kai
