Want to start 2024 off right?

Happy Tuesday!

I hope all of you had a great holiday.

I spent the last few days surfing, reflecting, chilling with my family, and planning for 2024.

But today, I’m back in your inbox.

Today, we’ll be taking a look at what the first 60 days of an SEO campaign look like with us. If you’re an eCommerce founder, this is a direct look into how we operate. If you operate your own agency or freelance, perhaps you can draw some inspiration from our operations.

Days 0-30:

  1. Technical audit + fix the most important issues like canonicals, 404s, indexing, and Schema.

Notice I didn’t say anything about pagespeed – it’s a low-leverage line item. There are more important things to do in the first 30 days.

  1. Easy link wins (both internal and backlinks)

  • Remap internal linking

  • Reclaim broken backlinks

  • Outreach campaigns for unlinked mentions (also easy wins)

  • Launch Reddit & Quora campaigns

  1. On-Page:

  • Keyword research

  • Collection and product page optimization

  • Build blog content strategy whose sole function is to rank your most important collections in the #1 spot on Google

How much of your time (as a brand operator) is required in month 1? Generally, 2 hours.

Days 31-60:

  • Launch link-building campaigns (guest posts, niche edits, and syndicated PR specifically)

  • Update and/or consolidate existing blog content — basically, we figure out which blogs are actually going to help us build topical authority, then improve those. We archive & redirect the ones we don’t need

  • Write & publish new blog content to build topical authority around target collections.

How much of your time is required in month 2? Generally, 1 hour.

Days 60+

  • Continue to publish new blog content, and update the content every 120-150 days

  • Expand link-building into reactive & proactive PR, diversifying your link profile

  • Identify new opportunities for new collections

  • Bury your competitors

How much of your time is required ongoing? Generally, our brands spend 30-60 minutes each month thinking about SEO.

It’s extremely hands-off – that’s the point.

We’ll add thousands of dollars to your monthly organic revenue, and you barely have to think about it.

If you’re a Shopify brand making at least $100,000 per month, 2024 is your year. Start it off right by booking a call with me to get started.

Until next time,

Kai Cromwell.
